2009 Debutantes

Miss Fancy von Furstenberg-Davenport (Alex Page)

Miss Fancy von Furstenberg-Davenport will be making her debut at the Atlanta Cotillion Ball VIII. She is daughter of Colonel Chapman Davis Davenport and Emmaline Rachel Davenport (nee von Furstenberg) of Sampson, Dothan, and Mobile, AL. She is also the paternal grand-daughter of Letohatchee Georgiana Davenport of Dothan. The Davenport family is known throughout LA, or lower Alabama, for their long and strong lineage of fine southern breeding.

Fancy was reared at Southern Comfort, the Davenport Southern plantation that is nestled off the muddy waters of Mobile Bay. Raised primarily by her mother, she was educated at the Bombay Sapphire School for Young Ladies.   She soon became quite popular at the school’s all-male counterpart, the Major Jack Daniels Military School.   Like the dark muddy current of the Bay, so too were the many men in her life and soon, Fancy felt it was time to move on from her past. Good breeding finally won over and, through the trials and tribulations of Southern Decadence, Fancy knuckled down. During her senior year, she became valedictorian at Bombay Sapphire and gave such a stirring graduation speech, orating on gin and regret, that grown men wept.

In late 2005, the strong winds and waves of Hurricane Katrina blew Miss Fancy north to the midtown region of Atlanta. Through exploring the many districts of Peachtree Street, Fancy finally found herself becoming more involved in both social and professional organizations. No matter how busy her schedule seems, Fancy has truly found her place in Atlanta and always finds time for breakfast at Tiffany’s.
