Community Partners

Many thanks to our partners for their support.

Innovation and Impact to benefit patients and prevention program participants.

AID Atlanta has received financial support from many different sources over the past thirty-eight years. Largely, the programs and services of the agency are supported by government initiatives and organizations with which AID Atlanta is affiliated. These programs are subject to the regulations and priorities of the funders, and rarely allow for innovation and supportive initiatives. This community partner program is designed to fund new initiatives and innovation that we develop to meet the needs of our program participants, patients, and clients.

AID Atlanta is proud to partner with Charter for Compassion. We join a growing number of members, partners, and compassionate communities who are working toward our vision of a compassionate global community. We envision a world in which compassion and compassionate action, as articulated in our Charter, will become a transformative energy, motivating individuals and communities to care for each other, to relieve suffering wherever it is found, and to connect to other communities across the globe to ensure well-being for all beings on the planet.

Overview

On February 28, 2008 acclaimed scholar and bestselling author Karen Armstrong received the TED Prize and made a wish—to help create, launch, and propagate a Charter for Compassion. After much work and the contribution of thousands of people the Charter was unveiled to the world on November 12, 2009. The Council of Conscious helped to formulate the Charter for Compassion document.

The Charter for Compassion inherits a confluence of contributions made by TED.com, the Compassionate Action Network, the Fetzer Institute, and many others. Charter for Compassion provides an umbrella for people to engage in collaborative partnerships worldwide. Our mission is to bring to life the principles articulated in the Charter for Compassion through concrete, practical action in a myriad of sectors.

Vision

A world where everyone is committed to living by the principle of compassion.

Mission

Our mission is to promote and cultivate the priniciple of compassion and the Compassionate Way of Life, as articulated by the Charter for Compassion, so that compassion characterizes all human society and all relationships.

We support the emergence of a global movement that brings the Charter for Compassion to life. To do so, we are a network of networks, connecting organizers and leaders from around the world, providing educational resources, organizing tools, and avenues for communication; sharing lessons, stories, and inspiration; providing the umbrella of the Charter for Compassion for conferences, events, collaborations, conversations and initiatives to create compassionate communities and institutions.
