March is Social Work Month! This year, National Association of Social Workers chose the theme “The Time is Right For Social Work”. There are over 720,000 social workers across the US and that number is projected to grow by 12% by the end of the decade.
Today, we honor poet and advocate Mary Bowman (1989-2019), as we continue our recognition and celebration of the incredible women who have been at the forefront of the fight against HIV for Women’s History Month. In May of 2019, the HIV/AIDS world lost its most promising poet, advocate, author, singer & young person living with AIDS, Mary Bowman.
This Saturday, March 19, Biltmore’s Imperial Ballroom will host a gathering of some of the most ferocious fundraising competitors in Atlanta’s LGBTQ community. Atlanta Cotillion began in 2002 as a fun and unique way to raise unrestricted funds for AID Atlanta by the LGBT community. For 11 fundraising ‘seasons’, each successive campaign grew and fundamentally changed the participants, guests, and AID Atlanta’s capacity to do more for our community.
