HIV & STD Testing

AID Atlanta offers free and confidential Rapid HIV Testing and Counseling.  No appointments are necessary, however, allow at least one hour to complete a testing and counseling session. The testing center is open Monday – Thursday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm and Fridays from 9:30am - 5:00pm.   Please be prepared to show identification at the time of testing.

Results from the Rapid HIV Screening Test are provided during the same visit. Results will only be provided confidentially to the individual being tested, except for individuals participating in Testing Together sessions (available for any couple that would like to be tested together).  If the screening test is reactive, indicating a preliminary positive result, a confirmatory test will then be performed and sent to an offsite lab for additional testing.  The confirmatory test will indicate if the HIV virus is present.  The confirmatory results may take up to 14 business days to be processed.

HIV testing will include prevention counseling and referral to appropriate agencies and community resources, as needed, that may include but are not limited to:

  • Prevention Case Management
  • Partner Notification and Counseling Services
  • Risk Reduction and HIV Education Workshops
  • STD Information and referrals for additional screening
  • Case Management for eligible HIV positive clients.

HIV Testing is also offered through a number of AID Atlanta's outreach events. If you are interested in scheduling a testing event please submit a request no less than 30 days in advance to Dari.Rogers@aidatlanta.org.
